Senior$afe provides a reporting map for bank tellers and managers who suspect that an elderly customer may be the victim of financial exploitation and also trains these individuals to learn where these referrals might lead.
The Maine Council for Elder Abuse Prevention (MCEAP) has worked in collaboration with the Maine Bankers Association and public agencies to establish a training program for financial institution personnel. As a result, a new program was designed to close gaps in the reporting system and create greater inter-agency collaboration in order to ensure that Maine’s seniors are able to receive the help they need, efficiently.
Training seminars were conducted in Maine in 2015, on December 2 in South Portland and on December 8 in Bangor. The following handout was provided at the seminars:

Nursing Homes Abuse
Nursing Homes Abuse is an advocacy center whose mission is to be a complete resource center on abuse in nursing homes and to offer any help possible. They offer a wealth of information on different types of abuse along with other resources on their website, which is updated weekly.
