Guest speaker Nikki Noriega of Federated Investors and MBA Trust and conference chair Stuart Williams of People’s United Bank

At the May 4 Trust & Wealth Management Conference, Amy Florian of Corgenius presented a fascinating and well-received keynote address on how to deal with grieving clients.  In addition, Eric Hayes of Wells Fargo PrivateBank discussed ethics and the duty of loyalty; Nikki Noriega of Federated Investors covered key themes in international investing; and Dr. Robert Strong of the University of Maine highlighted aspects of the psychology of investing in his session on behavioral finance.  A panel of lawyers updated these issues:  David Backer of Drummond Woodsum—estate planning; Gretchen Jones of Skelton, Taintor & Abbott--power of attorney laws; and Patricia Nelson-Reade, certified elder law attorney—special needs trusts.
